GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The Materials Planner - Production Control is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules and customer needs.  



  • Coordinate the production schedule for customer orders and track performance for assigned orders.
  • Analyze manufacturing database and generate plans for optimizing product flow in order to obtain on time delivery.  Develop long- and short-term production plans for assigned products.
  • Attend production meeting and collect information for day-to-day decisions required to reconcile delivery objectives.
  • Create and coordinate plans to correct deviations in schedules.
  • Ensure and track the flow of materials and assemblies between or within departments (suppliers, quality, kitting, production, inventory control, shipping).
  • Communicate with Sales Support to coordinate and expedite order priorities.
  • Communicate with Sales Support with respect to any deviations of schedule.
  • Work with purchasing to expedite parts required for on time delivery.
  • Help prioritize parts for quality inspection (incoming, in process, final and FAIs) to optimize schedules and deliveries.
  • Evaluate and maintain stocking levels for various parts and assemblies as well as make recommendations for stocking levels
  • Provide feedback to sales on lead times required for quotes and orders.
  • Generate, release and manage work orders.
  • Support replenishment systems for all purchased materials
  • Executing day to day activities including monitoring incoming shipments, expediting
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.



  • Solid basic knowledge of inventory control and storage.
  • Ability to calculate simple to complex arithmetic problems with accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, as evidenced by an ability to interact with internal customers, vendors, and suppliers of various interpersonal styles.
  • Strong project management skillset; detail oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of best practices in customer service.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.



  • Two year college or university program certificate preferred.
  • Two to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22CFR 1120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status)
