The Hardware Configuration Manager is responsible for maintaining drawing document control.  The Hardware Configuration Manager is responsible for maintaining AFSI’s document control compliance to ISO and AS standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and control the AFSI drawing database
  • Release new and revised engineering drawings and models
  • Manage, implement and verify engineering changes
  • Review engineering drawings for configuration, structural and bill-of-material (BOM) accuracy and resolve drawing structure and BOM related issues
  • Data entry responsibilities include:
    • Piece part drawing data entry
    • Assembly drawing data entry
    • Purchase part data entry
    • Configuration / BOM structures
  • Engineering Change Notice (ECN) data entries
  • Maintain the Configuration Management network drive (W:)
  • Audit drawing structures, BOMs and the DBA database as required
  • Archive and obsolete drawings as necessary
  • Provide drawing release and status information
  • Create and write ECN’s on occasion
  • Route and track progress of all ECN’s.  Jumpstart or reengage stale ECN’s as needed
  • Maintain AFSI ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100 related configuration management standards
  • Collaborate with Engineering, PLM, Purchasing, Planning, Materials, QC to ensure seamless from engineering to production
  • Modify and improve the AFSI drawing control processes to be more efficient

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read (write and speak in English) and interpret assembly drawings as well as internal and customer specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blue prints
  • Possess strong project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong understanding of best practices in customer service
  • Strong team player and ability to build effective relationships within the organization

Required Education and Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years’ related experience
