GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The Manufacturing Tooling Engineer is responsible the design and fabrication of tooling and fixturing for the manufacture of new and current products as well as evaluate production processes and recommend and implement improvements.  The candidate will also interface with outside tooling/fixturing suppliers, manage and troubleshoot equipment, and work closely with other members of the engineering team on projects as required.




  • Design and develop manufacturing tooling and fixtures;
  • Work closely with design engineering and process teams to design, install, and launch robust processes;
  • Provide guidance as to best layout scenarios and recommend changes for optimum efficiency;
  • Validation of manufacturing methods;
  • Develop and implement methods modification for continual improvement opportunities;
  • Develop specifications and analyze supplier quotations for purchase of new production equipment and fixturing;
  • Facilitate cross-functional process improvement teams;
  • Facilitate and perform training on manufacturing procedures and processes.



  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering and manufacturing activities including methods improvement, FMEAs, SPC, capability studies, failure analysis, tooling, plant layout, work flow, manufacturing cost control and reduction
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Tools; Value Stream Mapping, 5s, Standardized Work, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Error Proofing, Set up Reduction, Continuous Flow
  • Proactive with desire to improve organization performance
  • Must be skilled in AutoCad, Solid Edge or equivalent CAD tools
  • Familiarity with GD&T is required
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence & negotiate at all levels
  • Strong project management skillset; detail oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong understanding of best practices in customer service



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 0 -5 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering or product engineering
  • U.S. person as defined in ITAR, 22CFR 1120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status)
